The purpose of the Campus Recreation Internship Program is to offer the student a practical application experience, thus bridging the gap between the academic setting and career goals and aspirations. The student intern will be given the opportunity to learn about the foundation of the department and program areas. The student will have the opportunity to assess his/her skills in an active, learning environment in order to test current knowledge and to develop new skills within his/her area of interest. The student will be provided a working atmosphere that encourages personal and professional growth in order to assist in accomplishing his/her internship goals.
Upon successful completion of the internship, the student will have:
Engaged in meaningful career-oriented responsibilities that were designed to increase knowledge and skills, and improve upon weaknesses.
Integrated classroom theory with real-world working experiences.
Been provided experiences to build confidence, competence, and insight into personal skills and attributes.
Campus Recreation works with students pursuing any academic major to design an internship that meets their needs. Majors in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Health Promotion, Business, Marketing, Accounting, Graphic Design, and Environmental Studies are just some of the majors that can fulfill an internship at Campus Recreation.
