Come enjoy a FREE lunch while learning more about how to be successful!

Edible Education is a series of informational workshops geared towards creating events that are student centered and encourage Student Success initiatives. Each workshop is based on a topic that is very important to being a successful NIU student. 

We provide lunch to make this a comfortable environment for students to relax and engage with their speaker. We encourage you to attend every session and ask questions so you get the most out of each workshop.

Tacking the Books: Tips for Effective Reading and Studying

Thursday, September 18th- 12:30-1:30pm, Holmes Student Center Illinois Room

Studying and reading for class can be a lot of work, but can be easier with the right tools. Learn about ways to make your study and reading time more efficient and effective. 

Public Speaking 101

Tuesday, September 23rd- 12:30-1:30pm, Campus Life Building 100

Public Speaking 101 will help equip students with successful techniques for speaking in front of large audiences.

Test Preparation

Monday, September 29th- 12:00-1:00pm, Holmes Student Center Illinois Room

Hear from ACCESS A+ about ways to better prepare for and perform on exams.

Exploring Research Opportunities

Monday, October 6th- 12:00-1:00pm, Campus Life Building 100

Hear from faculty and students on their experiences with undergradate research. This session will cover the benefits of research, steps to pursue such opportunities, and the advantages of staying active in academics outside of the classroom.
