DeKalb, Ill. — Northern Illinois University president John G. Peters announced that Dr. Steven Cunningham, vice president of administration and human resource services, will serve as acting chief of operations and executive vice president of Finance & Facilities. Earlier today, it was announced that Dr. Eddie Williams will take a leave of absence from his university duties.

“Dr. Cunningham has graciously agreed to take on additional responsibilities on a temporary basis,” President Peters said.

Since August 2012, Cunningham has overseen the Office of the Controller, the Accounting Office and operation of the Holmes Student Center in addition to other responsibilities that include Human Resource Services, Compliance Administration, Procurement and Bursar Operations.

Cunningham has served NIU since being hired in 1993. Previously, he worked for the Board of Regents.
