NIU College of Law Hosts Group Admitted to the
United States Supreme Court Bar

DeKalb, Ill.--Northern Illinois University College of Law hosted alumni and guests as they were admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court on May 15, 2017 in Washington, D.C. This year’s group of 15 inductees included NIU College of Law alumni and guests.

The exceptional day started at the Supreme Court Building with a private breakfast for the inductees and guests. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., and alumnus Bob Fioretti (’78) served as the movant by making the motion for this group to be admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Immediately following the ceremony, the group was honored with a visit from Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who spoke with the NIU College of Law group and welcomed the new admittees to the Bar of the Unites States Supreme Court. Finally, the day concluded with a private celebratory luncheon at the Dirksen Senate Building on Capitol Hill.
