DeKalb, Ill.--On July 9, 2016, Professor Yolanda M. King presented her book chapter, Pushing the Body Beyond its Limits: Copyright Protection of Body Art, at the 10th Annual Commemorative Lutie A. Lytle Black Women Faculty Workshop. The workshop took place at the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City, Iowa. Professor King’s chapter, which is a contribution to the book Non-Conventional Copyright, explores the approaches to copyright protection of body art in common law and civil law countries.

The workshop, which included a writing retreat, was held July 6-12. According to the workshop’s web page, the workshop “is an annual gathering of current and aspiring black women law faculty. Although the workshop’s primary focus is legal scholarship, it also plays a vital role in incorporating professional and personal skill-building into its gatherings.” This year, nearly 120 black women law faculty participated in the workshop.
