Professor Robert Jones Named 2012 NIU Law Professor of the Year

Professor Robert Jones' energetic teaching style and personable nature both inside the classroom and out have made him a favorite among the NIU Law student body. For the third time since coming to NIU in 2007, he has been elected Professor of the Year; by the Classes of 2009, 2011, and this year by the Class of 2012.
Professor Jones teaches Constitutional Law, Conflict of Laws, Antitrust Law, and Evidence. He is the faculty advisor for the NIU Law Review, Environmental Law Society, and he is a frequent participant in debates hosted by various law student organizations. Professor Jones coaches student trial teams for the National Latino Law Student Association Moot Court and Frederick Douglass competitions. In addition, he serves as an instructor of Conflict of Laws for the Barbri bar review course in Illinois and Missouri. His competitive nature with students extends outside the classroom as he has participated in all three years of Race NIjUdicata, the annual NIU Law 5K Run/Walk, where he was the overall winner the first year.
