Dean Rosato Gives Keynote Speech at Leadership Event
Dean Jennifer Rosato gave a keynote speech on March 11, 2013 at the 4th Annual Wise Latina Brunch. The program was hosted by the Organization of Latin American Students and held at Elgin Community College. She spoke about her journey to becoming a Latina dean and the importance of higher education for creating leaders.
Dean Rosato Serves as Panelist at National Legal Education Conference
Dean Jennifer Rosato served as a panelist on "Deaning in the 'New Normal'" on January 6, 2013 during the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. She discussed the challenges and opportunities of being a law school Dean amidst the current changing times of the legal profession.
Dean Rosato Receives Excellence in Leadership Award at National Conference
Dean Jennifer Rosato received the Excellence in Leadership for Education and Advocacy Award presented by the National Latina/o Law Student Association (NLLSA). She was honored on Friday, October 5th during NLLSA’s 2012 national conference, “Movimiento: The Movements of Latinos in Education and Advocacy" in Los Angeles, CA.
Dean Rosato Presents on Implicit Bias September 20, 2012 in Springfield, IL
Dean Rosato was a 2012 Distinguished Speaker for the Illinois Attorney General's Office (OAG) as part of their in-house professional development program. Dean Rosato presented "With Liberty and Justice for All: How to Acknowledge and Address Unconscious Perceptions in the Justice System" on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the OAG's 2nd St. Office in Springfield, IL. Implicit bias affects professional relationships and, more importantly, the administration of justice on a number of levels. The program assisted participants to understand the underlying social science related to identifying and conceptualizing bias, acknowledge these unconscious perceptions, and consider strategies to diminish organizational and personal bias.
Dean Rosato Receives a 2012 Impresa Award
Dean Jennifer Rosato has been awarded the 2012 Impresa Award by the Women's Division of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans. The award was presented during a luncheon at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois on August 18, 2012. Dean Rosato was selected for her visionary leadership as Dean of the NIU College of Law. The Impresa Award was created in 1993 to honor women from the Chicago Italian-American community who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments during their professional careers.
Dean Jennifer Rosato Speaks at AALS Conference
Dean Rosato participated in the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) New Law Teachers Conference, in Washington, D.C. She spoke on a panel entitled “Mastering the Classroom;” spoke at a concurrent session focusing on issues relevant to Visiting Assistant Professors; and co-facilitated a breakfast for New Minority Law Teachers.

Dean Jennifer Rosato gave the keynote speech at the 39th Annual DePaul University LLSA Banquet in Chicago, IL on April 19, 2012. The theme of the banquet and her speech was "Nuestra Historia: Lucha, Sacrificio y Trinfo."
Dean Rosato Presents to DuPage County Bar Association
Dean Jennifer L. Rosato presented to the DuPage County Bar Association on March 29, 2012. She spoke along with Maya Kobersy on the topic of affirmative action. The event posed the questions, "Where we’ve been? Where are we now? What impact will policies have on the future of higher education and the legal profession?"
Rosato Presents to Kane County Bar Association
Dean Rosato recently presented on the topic of implicit bias to the Kane County Bar Association on March 15, 2012. Her presentation was entitled “With Liberty and Justice for All: How to Acknowledge and Address Unconscious Perceptions in the Justice System.”

Dean Jennifer Rosato recently published “What Are the Implications of Romer’s Dilemma for Adolescent Health Law?” in the 20th volume of the Brooklyn Journal of Law and Policy (2011).
