Sarah Elizabeth Hagan
About Sarah: I am from Scottsdale, Arizona and am the eldest of four. I attended college out of state at California Polytechnic State University, located on California’s central coast. With my 2015 graduation, I will become the first lawyer in my family.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: Before law school, I volunteered for a year with Prairie State Legal Services in Bloomington, IL to gain a better perspective on the legal profession. Working as a health policy reform advocate with the American Medical Student Association at Cal Poly and in Washington D.C., I saw firsthand the impacts and influence of the law.
What activities are you involved in? I plan to become active in various law student organizations, beginning with the Women’s Law Caucus. I enjoy camping, cooking, reading, backpacking, theatre, and playing the violin.
What do you like the most about being at NIU Law? The sense of community at NIU Law is fantastic. The faculty and staff have done a great job at making the students feel at home. The school’s upper-level students are warm and friendly and always willing to give advice and perspective. NIU Law’s energy is motivating, and I am excited to be a part of it.
