Patricia Donahue

Patricia Donahue

About Patti: I have always wanted to go to law school. I was on the debate team in high school because I enjoy analysis and research. I like criminal justice and learning how people work. When I get free time I like to play sports, basketball in particular, as well as read, draw and cook.

Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience:  During the summer of 2014, I had the opportunity to work as a judicial clerk at the Winnebago County Courthouse.

Why did you choose NIU Law? A grandfather figure in my life is a retired judge who told me that NIU Law is a good school that is affordable and offers experiential learning opportunities. I liked that NIU Law focuses on giving back to the community and training lawyers to be productive members of the legal system.

What activities are you involved in? Over the summer, I participated in the study abroad program in Agen, France. Currently, I am the Secretary for the Public Interest Law Society, a 2L Representative for the Student Bar Association, and I’m on the Latino/a Law Student Association external moot court competition team. I also am a founding member and the Vice President of the Professionalism and Ethics Society, and Professor Marc Falkoff’s Research Assistant.
