Megan Heath

Megan McGee Heath

About Megan: I’m from a small town in northwestern Wisconsin. I am a first-generation college graduate and a first-generation law student. As a part of my undergraduate studies, I studied for two weeks in various parts of China, and I also studied abroad for a semester in St. Petersburg, Russia. I love to travel. I also have a passion for animals and children and have enjoyed volunteering with children and at animal shelters.

What activities are you involved in on campus? I have just recently joined the Juvenile Interest Law Society as well as Amnesty International and the Trial Advocacy Society. I’m still deciding what else to get involved with, but I’m really excited to get involved.

What do you like the most about being at NIU Law? I am enjoying the people. My classmates are diverse, the people of DeKalb are friendly, and the professors are helpful and down-to-earth. I’m especially enjoying my Torts class with Professor Rigertas: she makes the subject of battery fun with references to Bozo the Clown and Spider-Man.
