Juneitha Shambee
About Juneitha: I have a six-year-old son who helps me with my homework.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: I was a secretary at Abrams & Abrams, PC, a summer clerk at Kidris Law Firm, a clerk at the Illinois Attorney General's office (workers group), a 711 clerk at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (juvenile division), and I worked as a judicial clerk for County Division Presiding Judge Ponce de Leon.
What activities are you involved in? I am a member of the Black Law Student Association, the Public Interest Law Society, the Women’s Law Caucus, the Cook County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Black Women Lawyers Association. I also coach my son’s soccer team.
What do you like most about being at NIU Law? I like the small community atmosphere. I also like the fact that professors know you by name. Additionally, I like the financial support that NIU offers.
