Bailey Standish
About Bailey: I am from Aurora, Illinois, and I am the oldest of four. I attended Grace College, majoring in Communications with a Pre-Law minor. I attended Charis Bible College after undergrad, and I completed a two-year certificate of ministry.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: Before starting law school, I saw firsthand the effect and influence of law on individuals and was especially impacted by the negative effects of misunderstanding the law. However, I had very little legal experience. I interned for the Porter County Prosecutor, for Congressman Randy Hultgren, and for Senator Richard Lugar.
What activities are you involved in? My family owns a café in downtown Aurora, and I am committed to seeing Aurora revitalized. I enjoy politics, fitness, planning events that unify communities, and promoting organizations about which I am passionate.
Why did you choose NIU Law? NIU was my first choice for law school. I did a ton of research, and it stood out as an institution that provides a stellar education, while considering the whole person and equipping that person for true service. I’m committed to my community, so I was thrilled to be able to access this high level of education while maintaining ties to Aurora.
