About Amber: I am not the average law student. I still have a favorite cartoon character (Scooby-Doo). My favorite channel to watch is the Disney Channel, and I know all of the shows. My ultimate career goal is to become a judge. When I graduate from law school, I would like to have a career in child protection, representing abused and neglected children.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: I studied abroad in South Africa and took law classes with South African students. I also had an internship at the Legal Aid Society while in undergrad, where I worked mostly on social security claims and family law.
What activities are you involved in? I am the current president of the Black Law Student Association. I am also on the executive board of the Women's Law Caucus and Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
What do you like most about being at NIU Law? I like the atmosphere. It is easy to communicate with others and to get help in areas you do not understand. The student body is really caring and there for you when you need anything.
