Alton Bradley

Alton Bradley

About Alton: Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, I grew up looking at the community around me and often wondered what I could do to improve it. Although I am a pretty easy-going person, I am also very committed to my goals and am not afraid to put the in the work needed to reach them. I would like to become a judge one day and do my part to positively effect change in my community. Coming from a big and supportive family, I understand the importance of having someone to depend on, and I look forward to being in a position to help others.

Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: Right out of college, I started working for various banks in the Chicagoland area. I started off doing personal banking, but I obtained my investment licenses and was able to do some retirement planning and long-term investing throughout my career. I also did some small business banking, helping clients reach their dreams and grow their business.

What activities are you involved in? I am a big sports fan, and when I have free time I love to golf. Traveling is also an interest of mine, and I try to get away whenever possible. I’d like to be involved in the Black Law Students Association, the Trial Advocacy Society, the Public Interest Law Society, and the Criminal Law Society.

What do you like the most about being at NIU Law? I really like the “family” feel of the NIU Law community, and everyone from the staff to the second- and third-year students to my fellow classmates has been very helpful in my transition to law school. People here really want me to succeed, and there are many elements in place to encourage that success. As a non-traditional student, I am quite encouraged by the feeling of community here.
