Adam Kaplan
About Adam: I am a 3L (third-year law student) who loves sports and hanging out with friends. I started a sports blog with some friends three years ago. I love to play fantasy football and football, after reading for classes of course.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: When I was 18, I clerked for 2 years for an attorney who practices in social security disability. When I was 20, I also worked for an attorney who dealt with junk faxes. At the age of 22, I clerked for an attorney in Chicago who handled family law cases. I spent this past summer clerking for an attorney in Naperville who deals with workman's comp and auto accidents. I was also a Graduate Assistant for a professor here at NIU.
What activities are you involved in? I am an executive board member of the Moot Court Society, a tutor for the Academic Success Program, a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and Delta Theta Phi, and treasurer of the Real Estate Law Society.
What do you like most about being at NIU Law? What I like most about NIU is the culture of the school. It breeds an atmosphere of both higher learning and being a family. I like that the school is in DeKalb and not in Chicago, where there is heavy competition.
