Please let our staff know if you have additional questions throughout this process by calling (815) 753-8595 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does the application process work?
Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis and placement is not guaranteed. In order to be considered for a room in the Law LLC, you must be a deposited incoming or returning law student for the upcoming academic year and your registration status must be confirmed. Admitted students who have not yet submitted their tuition deposit will not receive confirmation of their apartment or roommate until the Office of Admissions receives their tuition deposit to secure their seat. Current Law LLC residents have priority selection. Once all rooms in the Law LLC are filled, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list that will be given priority based on the date of application submission.
Once your Law LLC application is approved, you will be connected with the housing department for submitting your housing contract and deposit. You must then sign your housing contract and submit your deposit within two weeks of the date of the contract issuance.
How do I apply for housing?
To submit an application to the Law LLC, we ask you to complete an online application form. The Northern View Law LLC application must be submitted by August 11. However, as applications are approved on a first come, first served basis, it is to your advantage to submit your application as soon as possible.
When should I apply?
You should submit an online application by August 11 for the fall 2017 sememster. Every attempt will be made to assign rooms, place roommates, and generate contracts as soon as possible. As applications are approved on a first come, first served basis, it is likely that some roommate assignments and placements will be finalized well before August 11.

The application deadline is August 11 for the fall 2017 semester.
What type of housing does NIU Northern View offer students?
Northern View Community is NIU's on-campus apartment alternative to traditional residence hall living. Five apartment buildings, a spacious courtyard, and a Community Center with 24-hour access provide students with the opportunity to enjoy the comforts of individual apartments with the convenience of on-campus staff and resources.
Conveniently located on NIU's Huskie Bus Line, residents are able to easily take the bus to class, library, and other areas of campus or the DeKalb Community. Residents enjoy being close to class and building community with other students/families while avoiding the everyday hustle and bustle or busy traffic.
Residents contract for one bedroom in a single-gender two-bedroom apartment style united unit. Living Learning Communities go one step further in strengthening connections between students and faculty within a chosen course of study. These dynamic learning communities have some added benefits including:
- Access to special facilities and equipment in a supportive learning environment.
- Educational programs that will enhance your classroom learning.
- Social and cultural activities with students and faculty.
