899 White Collar Crime (2)

This course will explore the law relating to "white collar crime," a phrase that encompasses many forms of nonviolent business and commercial transgressions. All of the many forms of nonviolent business and commercial transgressions cannot be covered in a single semester. This course will introduce the concept of white collar crime, and it will specifically cover the following substantive offenses: corporate liability for employees' actions, conspiracy, mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, computer crimes, bribery, gratuities, extortion, false statements, and perjury. This course will not cover RICO or federal sentencing.
