Students spend approximately 12 hours per week clerking in offices of the Illinois Appellate Defender. Clerkship involves legal research and writing of briefs, memoranda, and motions in criminal appellate cases under the supervision of staff attorneys. In addition, the students have the opportunity to observe oral arguments.
Prerequisite: Appellate Advocacy (727)
This is an elective course. Most, though not all, electives are offered each year. Students may expect to have at least one opportunity to subscribe to all electives at some time in their three years in the college.
