Biography

René Hernandez is the President of the Law Offices of René Hernandez, P.C. in Rockford, Illinois participating in business law as well as criminal and civil litigation.  Mr. Hernandez is licensed to practice in Illinois, federal courts of Wisconsin, Illinois and Texas, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to his law career, Mr. Hernandez was a soldier with the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and overseas in Panama, attaining the rank of sergeant and jumpmaster.

Mr. Hernandez is on the NIU College of Law’s Alumni Council, served as vice president of the Northern Illinois University Alumni Executive Board and was a guest lecturer for Northern Illinois University’s College of Law.

Mr. Hernandez is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association as well as the Illinois State, Winnebago County, Boone County, and Hispanic National Bar Associations and Hispanic Lawyers of Illinois Association.  Mr. Hernandez is a former board member of the Community Action Agencies for Winnebago and Boone Counties.  Mr. Hernandez is a former volunteer attorney for ALERTA and Mujeres Adelante.

Mr. Hernandez received a B.A. in Political Science with an English minor from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1987 and a J.D. from Northern Illinois College of Law in 1990.
