Biography

Katherine Haskins Becker is the founder of Haskins Becker, P.C., a law firm located in Wheaton, Illinois, that concentrates its practice in the areas of divorce and family law in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, and Will Counties. Ms. Becker counsels clients on the various aspects of dissolution of marriage and paternity matters; including child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support, property, asset, debt, and retirement plan division, as well as other financial issues related to divorce.

Prior to forming Haskins Becker, P.C., Ms. Becker was an associate attorney at Levin & Conde, a law firm in Chicago whose practice focused on divorce and family law. Additionally, Ms. Becker previously worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Mark J. Lopez, Domestic Relations Division, Circuit Court of Cook County.

While a student at NIU College of Law, Ms. Becker worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Alumni Events and Public Relations, as well as at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Labor and Employment Division and for the firm, Ottosen Britz Kelly Cooper Gilbert and DiNolfo.

Before entering the practice of law, Ms. Becker taught high school biology, chemistry, and social studies.

Ms. Becker is a member of the American, Illinois State, Chicago, DuPage County, and Women’s Bar Associations.

Ms. Becker received a B.A. in History, summa cum laude, in 1998 from Saint Xavier University where she received the Outstanding History Major of the Year Award. She received her J.D. in 2011 from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she was honored with both the Outstanding Woman Student Award and the Alumni Council Award at commencement.
