Robert C. Meltzer, Esq. has concentrated his legal practice in the area of immigration law for the last 18 years. He began his career at the legal office of the United Nations World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, concentrating in public international law, international contracts and international copyright. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1986, Robert entered private practice where he continued to focus on international law and expanded his practice to include immigration law, representing clients on a broad range of immigration issues.
In addition to founding VisaNow.com, the first online legal services provider, Robert's commitment to creating more efficient and customer-focused legal services and immigration processing methods can be found in his establishment of the E-filing Standards for Immigration Group (ESIG). ESIG is a consortium of prominent Immigration Bar members and their technology vendors, focused on ensuring that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (CIS) creates an online filing system that provides maximum efficiencies to companies and individuals -- and the law firms that serve them -- applying for immigration benefits.
Robert was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1980, and a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1985. In addition to his traditional U.S. legal education, Robert furthered his international legal education by receiving certificates and diplomas from the Henri Dunant Institute in Geneva, Switzerland; The Institute de Internationale Droits de L'homme in Strasbourg, France; and the University of Salzburg/McGeorge School of Law in Salzburg, Austria.
