Leanne Ebert Murphy
Leanne Ebert Murphy is a director in the commercial services law department of Walgreen Co., currently focusing on providing overall legal support to Walgreen’s private label and global sourcing initiatives. Previously, Ms. Murphy was an assistant general counsel, commercial transactions at Sears, Roebuck and Co.; senior counsel, contracts law at First Health Group Corp., a managed care corporation; and in the corporate and securities practice group of the law firm of Sidley Austin, LLP. Ms. Murphy represents and has managed transactional, regulatory and commercial matters for corporate business clients in the United States and on an international basis, for various divisions of Fortune 50 corporations, including finance, accounting, human resources, credit, strategic sourcing, pharmaceutical purchasing, pharmacy operations and services, general merchandise purchasing, ecommerce, learning services, marketing, and information technology. She has extensive experience on multi-billion dollar transactions in pharmaceutical and general merchandise procurement, and outsourcing transactions, as well as in federal anti-kickback matters, federal antitrust matters, and other regulatory experience.
Ms. Murphy is an alumnus of the John Marshall Law School, and graduated in 1991. She received a certificate in international studies from McGeorge School of Law, studying in London, England, in 1989. Prior to law school, Ms. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University.
