Biography

Karen Blouin is a registered patent attorney at Perkins IP Law Group LLC in Lisle, IL. She handles a range of intellectual property matters including preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and internationally, rendering opinions on infringement and validity, counseling clients on patentability and clearance searches and asserting, defending, and licensing patents including litigating patent infringement matters. Karen regularly prepares and prosecutes trademark registrations including trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Before entering the legal field, Karen was a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force where she managed the design and development of guidance control systems and executive control software for Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.  She also worked as a system engineer designing software for critical railroad safety control applications.

Karen received a B.S. in Astronautical Engineering with honors from the United States Air Force Academy and an M.S. in systems management from the University of Southern California.
