As an NIU student you have the right to a safe and secure environment in which to live and learn.  There are several resources on campus available to students who have been victimized, or want to report behavior or actions which may be a violation of the NIU Student Code of Conduct, or other applicable university policy.

Submit an Incident Report

Contact DeKalb Police

You may contact the DeKalb City Police by calling 815-748-8400 or stopping by their headquarters on South Fourth Street. (You should only contact DeKalb Police for incidents which occurred off-campus)

You may contact the Office of the Ombudsman by dialing 815-753-1414 or stopping by the office on the 6th floor of the Holmes Student Center.

For medical care, please contact Health Services by dialing 815-753-1311 or stopping by their office on the corner of Lucinda Avenue and Wirtz Drive.

Victims of domestic violence or sexual assault may contact DeKalb County Safe Passage by dialing 815-756-5228.
