Non-Credit Programs

NIU's non-credit programs provide the education and skills necessary for success in today's workplace.

Our successful collaborations with regional and national organizations, and with professionals who have real-world experience, enable us to create more than 60 educational program offerings, each designed and delivered by top NIU faculty and staff in convenient locations.

We also offer the opportunity to enjoy our personal development programs which focus on offering exciting experiences to people of all ages.

You may participate in non-credit courses and programs without applying to NIU.

The Illinois Veterans Grant and the Illinois National Guard Grant programs cover tuition and certain fees for eligible students. Charges for non-credit programs offered by NIU Outreach are not based on university-wide tuition and fee calculations determined by the university and approved by its governing board; the Illinois Veterans Grant and Illinois National Guard Grant do not cover these charges.
